This project involved a major redesign and renovation of an existing residence in Sunshine Beach. Perched on top of a sand hill, this 35-year-old full brick residence did not take full advantage of its substantial ocean views nor of the Noosa National Park opposite. Additionally, its interior plan did not flow, with many rooms dark and small.
The client brief was to replan the internal spaces and to open up the residence to fully maximise the superb views and abundance of natural light.
The new design of this beautiful beach house maintains the property’s split-level format, which was enhanced by turned the original plan upside down, swapping levels two and three. Level one retains the existing pool and rumpus room with the addition of a fourth bedroom and new bathroom. Level two accommodates the new bedrooms, bathroom and study. Level three features a new living/dining/family space and kitchen areas and is fully opened up to appreciate the substantial ocean and national park views. The block has been extensively landscaped with the introduction of screened feature walls and fountains.
